Elegantly staying, meeting and celebrating above the rooftops of Hamburg
The Empire Riverside Hotel, opened November 2007, is located in a unique position high above the St Pauli “Landungsbrücken” in a triangle between the HafenCity, River Elbe and downtown Hamburg.
The 67-million-euro building, designed by star architect David Chipperfield, with its 327 rooms and junior suites dominates the skyline of Hamburg harbour. The special feature of each room are the floor to ceiling panoramic windows covering one whole wall. Guests, who choose the so-called Riverview rooms, can even gaze through two floor-length glass walls.
A further highlight of the hotel is the Skyline Bar “20up” on the 20th floor of the hotel. 90 meters above the Elbe guests enjoy the view over river, harbour and St.Pauli through seven-meter high panoramic windows. The bar with room for more than 200 people, offers in addition to a wide range of cocktails a culinarily high-quality brunch every first Sunday each month.
At the restaurant “waterkant“ international and typical hanseatic specialities are being served and guests are taken on a “culinary journey around the world”. And if one likes to know how typical dishes or other specialities are prepared they are able to watch the chefs at work in the open and integrated show kitchen. At DAVID’S Lounge & Bar Hamburg‘s best-known female sushi chef TUK rolls out her fine and always perfectly fresh sushi creations.
The conference area with 8 different flexible and combinable rooms across 1,200 square meters offers room for up to 600 guests. This includes the double-storey conference room “Ballroom” covering 305 square meters with a unique view of the harbour and the docks of Blohm + Voss.
