Spending 3 days in Hamburg, Germany is a perfect city break, with loads of things to do, places to visit, and of course amazing places to eat and drink.
On my recent trip this winter, I spent 2 days in Hamburg itself and the third day doing a day trip on the train to the nearby town of Lubeck, which is a great break from the buzz of the city. I thought Hamburg was like Berlin’s less pretentious seafaring cousin and really enjoyed my time there. It has loads of history, a gritty industrial edge and a vibe that’s uniquely its own.
I’m originally from Liverpool (UK), another famous maritime city and the two are quite similar so I felt really at home. I’ve written up all the highlights of my time in Hamburg on my travel blog, so you can use this as a basis for you own itinerary when visiting this incredible city.
