Emiel van den Boomen, the creator behind the travel blog Act of Traveling visited Hamburg – he spent one night at the Reichshof Hamburg Curio Collection by Hilton. This is a summary of his blogpost on Act of Traveling:
It does happen that hotels become a city’s landmark; a popular and famous place that have stood the test of time. A place that all residents know about. When you tell them this is where you will be staying, the nod with appreciation and approval. Hamburg also has such a landmark: the Hotel Reichshof Hamburg Curio Collection by Hilton.
The hotel originally opened it’s doors in 1910. At that time, it was the largest and most advanced hotel in Germany, and one of the largest ones in Europe. Everybody in town knowns the Reichshof. Not only for its history, but also for the Art Deco architecture that has now (after the recent renovation) been mixed with modern comforts. Immediately upon entering the hotel you understand why people love this hotel: the overarching feeling of grandeur.
