Recently, I was invited by Come To Hamburg to come and visit the beautiful city Hamburg. And instead of telling you why you should go to Hamburg, I’ll tell you why I can’t wait to go back again!
Shopping like there is no tomorrow!
Although I’m not crazy about shopping, (especially because there’s never really a good thing and I just get insecure) I have been very successful in Hamburg. I can recommend to go shopping on the Alsterarkaden. The nice thing is that these shopping streets are on the water. Around the corner of this street was the Cartoon Store. And before you think I am a Marvel fan, this is a clothing store with beautiful clothes in sizes from 34 to 44. It is that I do not want to spend my entire monthly income, but otherwise I completely would have.
Hamburg from the water
If you grab Google maps, you’ll see it right away. Hamburg is next to the river Elbe. And it is also the port city of Germany. It is therefore not surprising that you encounter a variety of boat tours. I went with the Barkassen Meyer Harbour Boat Tour. With Noé in the baby carrier, we enjoyed the views from the upper deck. The tour guide told us everything about all the beautiful buildings on the water, the different ships and of course about the history of the harbour. Really a must and certainly something I would like to do again.
A walk through Speicherstad
This part of the city is really beautiful. It is almost a small village. Everywhere there are beautiful harbour warehouses as they used to be. Until today the warehouses are still used. This way you can get delicious coffee at one of the warehouses but also have fun workshops. If you think you’re done there within an hour you’re wrong, because you can make really great pictures!
Relax on the beach!
The beach? Hell yes! You can also go to the beach in Hamburg. And there is no better place to relax than at StrandPauli. It reminds a bit of Woodstock. A relaxed vibe, cheerful colours, good music and old beds converted into chill spots. In addition, the menu card is also particularly good. Delicious meals, snacks, but also cocktails can be found here. We have really enjoyed the sun. And if you bring kids, no worries. They completely enjoy themselves in the sand! As you can read, I really intend to go back soon and discover the rest of Hamburg. We stayed only 2 nights and that is just too little time to do everything we wanted to do. I have been to Berlin a while ago. And although this is a beautiful city, I find the vibe in Hamburg much nicer, more pleasant. The people in Hamburg are so incredibly friendly and helpful. For that reason alone I would like to return right away. Have you ever been to Hamburg? And would you also like to go back to it?
