Linda visited Hamburg and stayed in the Appartello Hotel – Smarttime Living. This is a copy of her blogpost on conveythetravel:

If you are ever planning a city trip to Germany, Hamburg is a good place to start. Hamburg has a beautiful old city centre, a huge harbour, it has one of the longest beaches in Europe, it’s great for shopping and the city is surprisingly very green. So it’s also perfect for nature lovers and for everyone who loves a good picnic in the park. Today i’m starting my Hamburg series with a great place to stay, the Appartello Aparthotel in Hamburg.

Breakfast in Bed

I always love to start my day with a good breakfast. And oh boy I needed that. Thomas and I drove to Hamburg the night before, and seeing the surrounding by broad daylight was such a nice view to wake up to. The hotel is located just outside the city. It’s actually a very nice neighbourhood with a lot of green surroundings and beautiful picturesque buildings. So our night was nice and quiet, and we where all charged up and ready to go on the hunt for breakfast.

This hotel, which has these beautiful studio’s and apartments, had a unique way of serving breakfast. You actually only pay for what you eat. That is such a sustainable approach to hotel breakfasts, and I love it. You are free to eat on the terrace, inside or to take your breakfast up to your room. I decides to take it up and fill my tummy with lots of vegan food. Yum!

The apartment is so spacious and light, it was hard to leave it behind for the day. I got ready, brought a few dresses with me and decides to see the neighbourhood, a beach club in town (that sounds great right?!) and from then on we went onto the old city centre. Where we did some shopping (ofcourse I had to buy myself a new bag as a souvenir), went on a harbour cruise and explored the old city centre until our feet hurt. And we got back, right on time to see a beautiful sunset.

And I really can’t wait to show you all the amazing things we did and the content we shot during our stay in Hamburg. For the night we doubted if we wanted to go to a rooftop bar to get some drinks and soak in the city view, but we decided to stay in, enjoy the room and a hot shower. And went to bed early so we would be all charged up to explore some parks the next day. And I did not regret that at all. City trips are always exhausting, so I always recommend choosing your hotel (or apartment in our case) wisely and take plenty of rest.
