From 20-23 September 2017, Hamburg is celebrating it’s twelfth annual Reeperbahn Festival in more than 70 venues with over 800 events.
As Europe’s largest annual club festival, the Reeperbahn Festival has become home to one of the world’s most important music industry meeting placees.. Boasting a roster of over 500 international artists from a broad spectrum of genres, there is something for everybody, whether you’re interested in indie, folk, pop, rock, singer-songwriter, electronic, hip hop, jazz, soul, or classical music. If you need a break from all the dancing and concerts, the Reeperbahn Festival also includes events in the fields of fine art, film and literature.
The Reeperbahn Festival is the perfect opportunity to discover the clubs and bars in the heart of Hamburg’s famous nightlife district Saint Pauli. The clubs the Beatles played in the 60s, The Indra and Kaiserkeller, have full programs showcasing bands such as Skinny Lister, Time For Rage?, Ant Antic and Wandl. The American indie/roots band Dispatch will rock the stage of the Docks on opening night with Isolation Berlin and Faber.
Without a doubt the most spectacular of Hamburg’s venues is the Elbphilharmonie, which is located in the HafenCity quarter. The concert hall is one of the largest and most acoustically advanced in the world, and the only venue outside the Saint Pauli district. It’s only a half an hour walk or a seven minute bus ride from the festival headquarters on the Spielbudenplatz (BUS 111).
This year’s festival will include events with names such as „Touring in Germany“ and „Social Media for Musicians“ as well as workshops with the booking agent from Wacken Open Air, the biggest heavy metal festival in the world!
